History of TNI Racing
About Us
The idea of TNI Racing was born from the thrill of competition. TNI Racing has been successfully fielding Mazdaspeed 3’s in the United States Touring Car Championships since 2008. However, our journey began with a simple desire to go track day driving in a 1993 Mazda MX6. The incredible pace, reliability and early successes in time trials and other track days, led us to try our hand at a higher level of competition. Purchasing and building our first car, 2008 Mazdaspeed3, Ron and Deb Valtierra entered the USTCC, and scored a Second Place finish in our very first race.
With many subsequent podiums and victories, two third place finishes in the USTCC championships, and a USTCC Rookie of the Year, TNI Racing’s success cemented our love for the car and brand.
After a long hiatus, TNI Racing has come back with a plan to build, race and support the NC Mazda Miatas for the USTCC in the Sportsman class. This departure was made after the many successes of the #44 Mazda NC Miata of Brad Austin in this class. The speed, reliability and simplicity of this car is what we have come to expect from Mazda cars.
